I'm loving these adorable little fabric owls. I cut out each piece of fabric and assemble them onto the card stock. I can't decide if I like them more with or without the colored wings! Both are super cute!
We had a spare bedroom that was full of unopened boxes after the move. When we arrived back home from our vacation, I was ready to tackle it. We were in desperate need of a place where we could store computer and camera gear and be the electronic hub of the house. I convinced my husband he needed a swanky office for when he works from home and he was all up for it.
I wanted something moody and masculine so I went for grays, and browns with rattan accents. Here's the finished product.
I painted the stripes on the wall for a little pow!
So I was stuck at home today from 8-12:00 waiting for the cable guy to come. I only have a few days left of summer holidays before school starts up again and I'm back teaching in the classroom. I'm loving these lazy summer days because it gives me a chance to catch up and create things that I normally don't have time to do.
I've been wanting to make return address labels for-evah! Until now, I've handwritten my address for my +100 orders. My biggest problem was that I hated my envelopes. Sigh. My husband orders them from his work, (which is economical) but I hate the color. If it were up to me, they'd be white. So, instead of pouting, I decided to make some labels that worked with the color.
Here's how they turned out!
This is my favorite part ~ the back part of the wrap around label says, "Enjoy!"
Do you have icky yellow envelopes that you are forced to use? Want these? Go ahead and download them for free!
We spent the last two weeks of our trip traveling throughout Brazil. This country is so incredibly diverse, not only in its landscape, but its people and culture as well.
One of our favorite places was Jericoacoara. It's this remote beach town in the middle of no where surrounded by sand dunes. The streets paved with sand the mood is totally relaxed. We loved it! My husband also got to try sandboarding ~ it's like snowboarding, but on sand!
We also stayed on a floating lodge on the river deep in the Amazon. It was an incredible experience! This time of year the rain forest is completely flooded and you take a canoe through the forests looking for wildlife.
By the end of our trip we were pretty tired so we spent the last week on the beaches of Rio and Salvador. Ahhhh, I want to go back....
We also had a chance to go to our first soccer game and boy was it crazy. Talk about team spirit!
